Real Wedding: Megan + Tyler

“Mikaela and Jordan were AH-MAZING! They provided our wedding ceremony & cocktail hour music. We received multiple compliments from our guests about how great they were. They are beyond talented and their music provided the dreamiest vibe for our wedding. I requested a song that wasn't in their repertoire and I would have never known - it sounded so perfect on the big day. Mikaela was very easy to work and communicate with - her responses were always prompt.” - Megan S (ceremony & cocktail hour)

Megan + Tyler’s wedding (featured on Style Me Pretty!) was straight out of a Spring daydream! It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever had the privilege to sing for or attend. This comes as no surprise as Megan is the creator and owner of Peach Paper & Design - a wedding invitation design, calligraphy, and small business branding one stop shop. Her eye for color, texture, and attention to detail is mind blowing and I will be thinking about her and Tyler’s wedding for years to come!

When Megan reached out to me, she already had a clear vision for the vibe they wanted for their wedding music. They were going for a 70’s feel, full of classic and upbeat love songs that would put a smile on everyone’s faces and they wanted the duo. As Austinites and country lovers, they also wanted to incorporate some country music. I was so excited to work with her to pick the perfect combination of songs for their ceremony and cocktail hour!

We started by singing some feel-good, throwback love duets as guests took their seats for the ceremony - “How Sweet It Is” by James Taylor, “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King, “Lets Stay Together” by Al Green, and “Wonderful World” by Sam Cooke (my all time favorite!). As the ceremony began, we transitioned into some more mellow/romantic tunes, starting with the Etta James classic, “At Last” for the parent and grandparent processional. Next, the bridal party made their way down the aisle as we played an acoustic rendition of Elvis’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love”.

Finally, it was Megan’s turn. From the start of our conversations she knew she wanted to walk down the aisle to the timeless The Righteous Brother’s song “Unchained Melody”. We started off sweetly with just guitar and vocals, slowly building intensity as she took each step, adding piano and swelling into emotion of the song. We finished the music just as she ended her walk to marry the love of her life (I’m not crying, you’re crying).

After a very moving ceremony it was time to party! Tyler and Megan said their I do’s, and he dipped her down into an epic kiss to seal the deal. We played “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne and sang them into their first night as a married couple!

Continuing the peachy-good-vibes, we played acoustic renditions of their faves like Kacey Musgraves, The Beatles, and The Bee Gees as everyone enjoyed specialty Springtime cocktails and snapped polaroids.

Thank you both so much for letting us play for y’all on your most special day! We will never forget it! 🌸🌵🍑

Highlights: That absolutely gorgeous flower-studded tree, cocktail hour snack station with pretzels, cheeses, and local jams, cacti, all the Austin feels, a camper bar (um, so cute), and flower crowns for the bride and her babes at the reception!
